The first dream I wrote down when I was worried about my psychological problems was very revealing. I couldn’t translate its meaning at that time. First of all, I had to seriously study the scientific method of dream interpretation discovered by Carl Jung before I could truly understand the meaning of terms.
I dreamt that I was in an elevator going up with a man whose face I couldn’t see. I was feeling uncomfortable because I was alone with him in the elevator, while I was a married woman. In the end I saw a very old woman. She told me something, but I couldn’t remember her words when I woke up. This dream impressed me very much. I wrote it down in a piece of paper, thinking that perhaps some day I would be able to understand its meaning. I could translate it only four years later.
The elevator in dreams represents the movement of our ego in the different sides of our conscience. When we go up with the elevator this means that our ego is analyzing the content of our conscience, in other words, what is known to us.
When we go down with the elevator we analyze the unknown content of the anti-conscience, our primitive conscience.
In the dream I was going up with the elevator with a man whose face I couldn’t see because this man represented my perfect mate. He had no face because I hadn’t met him yet. However, I would meet him in the future, since we were going together to the conscious level (up with the elevator). In other words, this was a prediction.
I had this dream in 1984, when I was 23 years old and I was feeling constantly depressed. I was already a mother; my son was a baby.
The old woman in the end of the dream represented the repetition of sins that are common to the human race. This dream was predicting that I would fall in love with another man who was my perfect match. I would be tempted to accept adultery because I got married to the wrong man. (This was why I was always depressed.)
I met my perfect match in January of 1988, after predicting this meeting in a dream the previous night. The predictions I saw in dreams that year were guiding me all the time. Unfortunately I had to stay far away from the man I loved because I was already married, and he was already married too.
Only because I precisely followed the guidance of the unconscious mind, could I prevent schizophrenia. If I would dare betray my husband, I would have to face many unbearable problems. Everyone would hate me and do everything they could in order to separate me from the man I loved. He was very rich, much older than me, and he had children that were my age.
Everyone would condemn me if I would betray my husband by turning to his best customer. My son would never forgive me. I would never manage to live happily with this man. Passing through many bitter experiences associated with this unsavory situation I saw that I would not find peace; I would become schizophrenic. The unconscious guidance prevented a big catastrophe, helping me transform my personality and stopping me from committing a sin and becoming immoral.
Be smart and learn how to translate the meaning of your dreams before making costly mistakes in your life like I did. You will never get involved with the wrong person. The unconscious mind will help you find your perfect match before it is too late.
Christina Sponias continued Carl Jung’s research into the human psyche, discovering the cure for all mental illnesses, and simplifying the scientific method of dream interpretation that teaches you how to exactly translate the meaning of your dreams, so that you can find health, wisdom and happiness.
